Pioneer Valley Shambhala Generosity Policy
January 22nd, 2012 by Dori DigentiOur Generosity Policy
The Pioneer Valley Shambhala Center is a non-profit organization supported by program fees, member dues, donations and the energy of many volunteers.
Our intent is to share the Shambhala Buddhist teachings with all who are interested, regardless of financial considerations. As a result we have adopted a pay-what-you-can policy as an option for people being introduced to our sangha through introductory programs (through Way of Shambhala Year One), as well as for those who are supporting the Pioneer Valley Shambhala Center as members.
Our programs have a “Sustaining Fee” which represents the amount needed to cover the center’s costs. If this fee is an obstacle for you, please contact any staff member in advance of the program you wish to attend, notifying them of the amount you can offer which is appropriate to your financial situation. Please help us bring these teachings into the world by offering the most you can afford. If you have the means to help offset the cost of another’s fee, we graciously encourage you to make an additional donation. Your generosity allows us to offer these teachings to everyone regardless of their ability to pay.
